As you are hopefully aware, the PICPCU has worked over the last two years to develop a relationship with the Mercyhurst Risk Management and Insurance Club (a local chapter of the national insurance fraternity Gamma Iota Sigma). Gary Sullivan, a PICPCU member and head of the Risk Management program at Mercyhurst, recently mentioned this relationship on a podcast with Property and Casualty 360. In our continued efforts to support this club, the PICPCU would like to make you aware of the following activity.
Several chapters of Gamma Iota Sigma, The International Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science Fraternity, are joining together to hold the 2021 Risky Run Virtual 5k. This year chapters from Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are participating, including the Gamma Kappa Chapter at Mercyhurst University! What's a virtual 5k, you might ask? It's a fundraiser for the chapters which allows you to run, walk, or crawl a 5k anytime, anyplace you’d like between April 12th and 18th. Given the situation with COVID-19, this virtual fundraiser will be a great opportunity for all to support future insurance professionals at Mercyhurst.
Those that register for the Risky Run can choose to support one or more of the chapters mentioned above. Not sure who to support - select all seven chapters! Visit www.riskyrun.com for more details and to register.
For those not interested in running or walking for the Risky Run Virtual 5k but want to support one or more chapters, there is a donation option under registration. T-shirts and medals are also options in registration.
