Joint Meeting of Insurance Professionals - October 12th
The annual Joint Meeting of Insurance Professionals takes place Thursday, October 12th at the Erie Maennerchor Club. The cost is $19/per person. Registration and cash bar opens at 5pm with dinner at 6pm followed by the presentation at 6:30pm. Our featured speaker is David J. Smith, CPCU, BA, MSM. The topic is: Terrorism 2017: A Brief Background and the Current Situation. CPCU members should have received an email invite on 9/20/17. Your RSVP is needed by October 5th. Speaker bio: In 2008, David retired after a 44-year career as an Agent, Senior Underwriter, Product Development Specialist, and Market Intelligence Analyst with the Erie Insurance Group. He is also a retired US Army Military Intelligence Officer who maintained this concurrent career for 24 years. He held Army qualifiers as both Combat Intelligence Officer and Strategic Intelligence Officer. He was a two-time recipient of the Army Commendation Medal.
After his retirement from Erie Insurance, he became the Director of the Risk Management and Insurance Program at Gannon University. David received a B.A. in Political Science from Gannon College in 1970 and an M.S.M. from the American College in 1995. He received the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1977 and awarded a graduate diploma from the US Army Command and General Staff College in 1990.
In the fall of 2016, The Managers Guide to Terrorism, Risk and Insurance was released by Rothstein and Associates as an E-Book. This work was co-authorized by David and Dr. Mark Silinsky. Aspects of this presentation are based on information contained in this publication.
