Erie Redevelopment has recently seen a coordinated effort by several stakeholders. The Bayfront East Side Taskforce (B.E.S.T.) is an organization focused on neighborhood revitalization in the heart of our city. Jeremy Bloeser, B.E.S.T. Executive Director, shared their progress with over 40 chapter members in attendance at the Erie Club. What started as a crime prevention program has expanded into neighborhood improvement grants and an improved quality of city life. Vacant lots have been transformed into gardens and orchards where residents come together, strengthening their community. Neighbors are embracing their diverse culture through beautification projects, landscaping and artwork. Folks are developing hometown pride as they turn urban blight into Erie delight! February’s Featured Greeter was Lizzette Cruz. Lizzette is a 2019 New Designee and is serving as our Chapter’s Events & Programs Chair. She is responsible for chapter meeting locations, menus and networking/social events. She was also responsible for the meeting’s special dessert, crème brûlée. Good call, Lizzette!
